With a high-intensity soundtrack, PS3 Madden 10 players will get even more for their gaming dollar. Soundtracks have become synonymous with the games themselves, especially the Madden series. PS3 Madden 10's soundtrack brings the right level of intensity, as well as a great mix of newer and older songs ("older" being a relative term here, of course). If all those features and upgrades haven't convinced you that PS3 Madden 10 is a masterpiece, then perhaps a trip through the sports video game timeline will. Sure, it's questionable to praise today's games simply by damning yesterday's. Once you've given the older football video games the once-over, you can grasp why people are drooling over PS3 Madden 10. It makes sense that at the beginning of the video game console revolution, there was a huge demand for football video games. Trouble was, the video game consoles' abilities weren't as fully realized as gamers' football fantasies, so hardcore gamers had to make do with what was there. "All the excitement" of the real thing, the game publishers crowed back then. And since it was the only game in town, this is what passed for the gridiron.
Those players don't even look human. There's no getting around that one As crude-looking as that picture is, it's even worse when you see the game in action. Technology was so inadequate back then, that every moving player flickered to the point where you could barely see the action. There's just no way to try an explain how lousy the sound was. And worse, the screen didn't even scroll. Soon after, this one was given a run for its money with the competition. This next one was a valiant attempt to make a more realistic football video game. Still needed work, though. The video game world was certainly jazzed when that was released, but it wasn't exactly the gold standard. That wouldn't come until several years down the line. This next one reaped the benefits of the 8-bit gaming revolution, and people still rave about it to this day. For many years, this was the greatest football video game.
Not hard to understand why that caught on - they were the first to really bring a more comprehensive simulation of football to the video game console. Everything - sound, visuals - got such a major upgrade that this was the final word in sports video games. And given that they're making a new online version, there's still a following for it. That being said, PS3 Madden 10 still blows it away. When you've seen all the rest, now take a look at the best. Yes, technology has been good to the video game world in general, and the football video game has benefitted from it all. But there's no purpose in ragging on the early games. You get it. Those games, while archaic, got us to where we are today, and for that, they deserve their place in the video game hall of fame (though that first one may be better off in "video game hall of shame.") PS3 Madden 10 is in a whole different stratosphere than its predecessors, and for that, hardcore gamers have every reason to be stoked. Better yet, the reviewers share the same level of PS3 Madden 10 love as the fans, always a good thing. Reviews for PS3 Madden 10 are filled with praise such as "realistic and enjoyable." Once again, EA Sports makes a win with PS3 Madden 10 - was there any doubt?
There's no debating it - PS3 Madden 10 is an all-time great sports video game. Not to disparage the other PlayStation sports video games - they're all pretty excellent in their own right, but PS3 Madden rules the playing field. Hardcore gamers hold this one in the highest of regard. And it's where they separate the men from the boys, by letting you duke it out for some serious cash. PlayStation Madden 10 aficionados now get to face off for big bucks. You'll be making touchdowns, and nabbing your foe's money, after you've educated yourself in all things Madden 10.
